The Three Tactics to Delivery Unique Content for Small Business Founders in 2024 šŸ‘‹

Building unique content is no easy task. The even worse news is that ChatGPT has learned a lot of information from the internet. If I simply remix content from the web, itā€™s highly likely that others will easily copy it in the future.

However, Iā€™m not an AIā€”Iā€™m human. In fact, there are many tactics I can use to make my content stand out from the rest. By leveraging these strategies, I can ensure that what I create remains original and distinctive, even in an age flooded with information.

1. Use your own voice

Not many can mimic our unique voice, especially not GPT. When we write, itā€™s important to make it ours by sharing personal experiences, thoughts, and opinions. This not only makes our content unique but helps the audience connect with it. If we canā€™t think of a fitting personal story, we can borrow examples online and adapt them. GPT tends to stay vague for everything. If we ask it tips for fighting procrastination, it brings something like below:

Here are some effective strategies to help fight procrastination:

Break tasks into smaller, manageable steps
Use the "two-minute rule" - if a task takes less than two minutes, do it immediately
....

But when you ask a real person, youā€™re likely to get something more personal. Check out this response I found on Reddit:

Depends on what Iā€™m procrastinating. If itā€™s something like straightening up, Iā€™ll set a timer for 5 minutes and give myself permission to do it for only 5 minutes. During the 5 minutes, I do anything I see/ can reach. Mindless, no prioritizing. Sometimes Iā€™m driven to continue past the 5 minutes.
If itā€™s something like a chore that needs doing, and I have a list, I number the list and use a random number generator.
If itā€™s a paper or something similar, I use the Pomodoro technique of 25 minutes of work, 5 minutes of play.

If I were writing up some productivity tips, Iā€™d definitely go with the second example, flesh it out a bit more, and put my own spin on it. Itā€™s totally fine to borrow someone elseā€™s experience, but always make sure to throw in your own thoughts and takes on it. Thatā€™s what makes it yours.

2. Make Statistical Analysis or Figures

Another way to make our content unique is by adding statistical analysis or figures.

This is a common link baiting strategy. For example, Ahrefsā€™ blog post on ā€œHow Long to be rank on Googleā€ doesnā€™t just claim it takes 2-6 months. They provide a graph showing the distribution of time it takes to rank. This kind of data-backed content sets us apart from others who rely on generic statements. More over, it brings backlinks to your website (At least they got a link from here).

Age of Page from the Top 10 Results

If you feel very hard to make a figure, you can get some insight from this subreddit Data is Beautiful. There are always tons of data visualization that you can refer to. This used to be also a good place to launch some data visualization tools, but sadly, now more and more moderators just simply remove all posts that has some commercial purpose.

3. Provide Video, Tools or any other Interactive Content

The advantage today is that while GPT can only generate text, having some coding or video editing skills gives you a distinct edge.

For instance, consider this website, that produces videos and 3D animated infographics, attracting thousands of viewers. While this may require time, especially if you lack prior experience, I encourage you to leverage at least one engaging format in your toolkit. Use your strengths to create content that stands out.

In short, we need to embrace the growing division in content creation. Write in your own way and create content thatā€™s personal, data-backed, or interactive, then we wonā€™t lose in the AI ocean.
